1. Though it pains me to add a shout-out to a post about Pinterest (as new and unknown as is the site), Miranda Miller, in her “5 Pinterest User Insights Marketers Can Use to Drive Sales” article for Search Engine Watch, uses only very real facts to qualify action-based recommendations to help readers—even those that have not stepped on the Pinterest wagon—plan for better targeting and better results. Brian Steinberg Responds: “The Ads Sound A Dark Chord”

Monkey Drinking a Diet Dr. Pepper

I recently reinvigorated my “Random Person Might Be Wrong” blog posts with a rebuttal to Brian Steinberg’s “Apple’s Rare Ad Misstep: Celebrity Siri Ads That Slice the Wrong Way” post written for Ad Age. Steinberg posited the idea that using celebrities–Samuel L. Jackson and Zooey Deschanel–in television commercials, in which they sport fancy new iPhones equipped with Siri, is a tad elitist. As biased as I may be, I now see the power of blogs and the Internet, especially for businesses.

Instead of appealing to said businesses with logic and flawless rationale, I decided that pretty colors and cartoon graphs would work better.
